DigitalECEC2 promotes the thoughtful integration of AI into early childhood settings, ensuring that technology supports pedagogical goals, enhances learning experiences, and simplifies school processes. A strong emphasis is placed on ethical use, digital well-being, and inclusiveness, so that AI becomes a positive tool rather than a source of concern or inequality.
Objectives:
1. To empower early childhood teachers, school leaders, parents, and pedagogy students with essential knowledge and practical skills related to Artificial Intelligence, enabling them to understand and use AI in teaching, learning, child development, and everyday school life.
2. To develop, test, and share AI-enhanced pedagogical tools that support personalised learning, language development, emotional growth, engagement, and inclusion for young children.
3.To introduce AI-based solutions that support early childhood education management and administration, helping schools improve planning, organisation, and decision-making while reducing administrative workload.
4. To promote ethical, safe, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in early childhood education through clear guidelines and policy recommendations aligned with European values and quality standards.
Results:
AI-Focused e-Learning Course for Teachers and Parents
This structured yet friendly e-learning programme helps teachers and parents build confidence in understanding and using Artificial Intelligence. Through clear explanations, practical examples, and interactive activities, participants explore how AI can support teaching, learning, and digital well-being. The training encourages thoughtful and responsible use of AI, both in the classroom and at home, making complex concepts simple and approachable.
AI-Enhanced Pedagogical Tools Library
The pedagogical tools library offers a collection of digital resources powered by AI, designed specifically for early childhood education. These tools support personalised learning, language development, emotional growth, and active engagement through play and exploration. Educators can use them to adapt learning activities to each child’s needs, creating inclusive and meaningful learning experiences.
AI Roadmap for ECEC Management and Administration
The AI Roadmap provides clear guidance and practical examples on how Artificial Intelligence can support school management and administration. It shows how AI can improve planning, organisation, attendance tracking, and decision-making, while reducing administrative workload. By simplifying daily processes, the roadmap helps educators and school leaders focus more on teaching, care, and quality learning environments.
