Unique Tastes Of Umbria
UNIQUE FLAVORS OF UMBRIA is a project to promote products from the short supply chain in the territory of PARRANO (TR) through events, tastings, tests and meetings on the topic of nutrition, healthy eating and on the specificities of local products.
The Unique Tastes of Umbria project (lasting 12 months) stems from the collaboration between the Municipality of Parrano and local companies that - with the technical support of Forma.azione srl - want to implement policies for the promotion and enhancement of typical local products, highlighting the specificities of the area and the richness of local agricultural production. The project, which aims to support the definition and management of common promotion strategies in collaboration between agricultural producers and the Local Authority, is integrated with the initiatives promoted within the framework of the direction dictated by the “VILLAGE of the Third Millennium” project. If, on the one hand, the administration wants to adapt the technological infrastructure and policies aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the territory, on the other hand, it intends to consolidate the position of the Municipality as a reality strongly focused on the values of sustainability and biodiversity.
So here is why collaboration with local agricultural producers plays a major role in systematizing a reality characterized by countless typical products of excellence, which well express the richness and articulation of local biodiversity and the capacity of the territory to enhance over time (of centuries!) their resources.
Activity
The Unique Tastes of Umbria project involves the construction of specific free tasting and testing activities within the events promoted in the area.
The participants in the various initiatives will thus have the opportunity to learn about and taste typical local products, made available by the network of partner producers of the project.
In each event listed below, the local community and tourists (regional and extraregional) will be able to find stations dedicated to the administration of free tastings of the typical characteristics of the territory, with a view to spreading knowledge of the products and opening up to new target audiences for the market linked to agricultural products in the area.

Free tastings of products from the short supply chain in local restaurants.
In these evenings, which will be held in 15 restaurants located between Parrano, Orvieto and Città della Pieve, participants will have the opportunity to participate in dinners or aperitifs and taste typical local products, presented directly by the producers themselves, free of charge.
