Operator for the Reception and Promotion of the Territorial Tourism Offer (Rural Tourism Specialization)

Integrated and free training course to become a “Territorial Tourism Promotion and Reception Technician” a professional who intervenes in the tourist services process operating in hotel and accommodation facilities, and in tourist and territorial information and promotion offices.

The project, funded by Umbria Region, as part of the PUBLIC NOTICE, training courses for the strengthening of skills and employment “SKILLS”; saw the participation of 12 unemployed and unemployed in an integrated training course (350 hours in the classroom + 4 months of paid internship) that aimed to train young “technicians of tourism promotion in rural areas, professionals able to:

• Identify local tourist resources and opportunities and manage their information
• Welcoming the customer and managing reservations and administrative procedures for the stay
• Assist the customer in taking advantage of the available tourist opportunities and services
• Value and promote hospitality services and the tourism product
• Create experiential tourism offers in rural areas

Training offer

• Exercise of an employee and/or independent activity - 18 hours
• The professional activity of the operator for the reception and promotion of the Territorial Tourism offer - 42 hours
• Identifying Territorial Tourism Resources and Opportunities and Information Management - 40 hours
• Customer Reception and Management of Reservations and Administrative Residence Practices - 30 hours
• Customer Assistance in Using the Available Tourist Services Opportunities - 70 hours
• Enhancement and Promotion of Hospitality Services and the Tourism Product - 58 hours
• Safety in the workplace - 8 hours
• The evaluation of the quality of the service offered in the field of accommodation facilities and the continuous improvement - 20 hours
• Creation of Experiential Tourism Offers in Rural Areas - 60 hours
• Training internship - 480 hours

At the end of the course, 7 out of 8 students found employment in tourist businesses, farmhouses or started independent businesses in the tourism sector.
